Power Supply Comparison

In general, there are different ways to power hearing aids. In this blog post, you will learn more about the various power supply options and how they differ technically.

The classic option is battery-powered hearing aids. Zinc-air batteries come in various internationally standardized sizes:

  • Size 10 (yellow)
  • Size 312 (brown)
  • Size 13 (orange)
  • Size 675 (blue)

These batteries are widely used and offer a simple and easily replaceable power source for hearing aids. Each size corresponds to different models of hearing aids, with the battery’s capacity and lifespan varying based on the size and power needs of the device.

Depending on the size of the battery and the hearing aid settings, the battery life may vary. To prevent unnecessary battery drain, hearing aids should be turned off when not in use. Empty batteries must be disposed of properly.

Rechargeable hearing aids are an environmentally and user-friendly alternative for powering hearing aids. The batteries for these devices can be charged through contacts, induction (Qi standard), or radio frequency (RF). Simply place your hearing aids in the charging station to recharge them.
